About L'chaim
In 2011 Yael Schoultz started visiting women in prostitution in the
brothels of Prague, Czech Republic, building friendships, and
developing the vision to see a team trained and equipped to provide
care and services to women in prostitution.
Slowly this team formed, and in 2014 a two year certificate training
programme was established to further educate and equip team members to
be more effective in their care for women in prostitution.
In 2018 the service to women in prostitution was expanded to include
not only Prague but also the second largest city of the Czech Republic
which is named Brno.
The word L’Chaim is a Hebrew word which means “to
life” and the vision of L’Chaim Czech Republic is to see women in
prostitution LIVE LIFE in a way that is healthy to their soul and
bodies, and which promotes shalom (peace). This is achieved through
providing holistic care and services, both by L’Chaim team members and
by various partner organisations.
Our services
Crisis hotline
If you are in need of immediate help, you feel that you are in danger
or that you don’t have a place to stay for the night, you can call our
crisis hotline number which has services in English, Czech, and
Romanian.
Social integration courses
If you feel that you would like to learn more about the life in the
Czech Republic, how the banking system works, how the medical system
works, a little bit about the politics, about the culture and history,
we can provide you with lessons in this. It is really important to
better understand the country that you live in. This will make for a
more pleasant stay, and will help you to get adjusted to Czech life
and to integrate into Czech society.
Brothel visits
We visit women in the brothels, talk together, and become friends. We
usually provide condoms, hand sanitiser and other items which can
promote life and the well-being of our clients.
English lessons
We provide one-to-one free of charge English lessons which range from
beginner to advanced level, depending on the woman’s need and language
ability. Lessons can be tailored to focus on conversation skills,
business English, Resume/CV writing, E-mail writing, and many other
topics.
Czech lessons
We provide one-to-one free of charge Czech lessons which range from
beginner to advanced level, depending on the woman’s need and language
ability. Lessons can be tailored to focus on conversation skills,
business English, Resume/CV writing, E-mail writing, and many other
topics.
Medical help
We can connect you with the relevant organisations that can provide
you with adequate medical care. We can accompany you to medical
appointments, help with emotional support and translation.
Counselling
We are connected to various counsellors who can provide counselling
services for you. If you feel that the problems of life are getting
you down, and you feel overwhelmed, feel free to contact us and we
will do our best to put you in touch with a counsellor who will be
able to walk on this journey with you and help you to understand
yourself and life better.
