About Us

L'Chaim was established as an NGO September 20, 2022. The Association is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit Association located in the Czech Republic focused on the support and empowerment of those engaged in the sex industry, both voluntarily and involuntarily. This includes education, awareness, and field work pertaining to human trafficking and exploitation of sex industry workers.

Our Mission

We envision a world where individuals working in the sex industry are empowered, respected, and equipped with the skills to access diverse employment opportunities. We are committed to being the pivotal bridge that connects these workers with essential resources, supportive organizations, and state authorities.

Programs & Services

We offer a variety of programs and services designed to empower our clients, helping them alleviate their difficulties and improve their lives.

Shelter 

We connect our clients with shelter possibilities should we find out that our clients are in domestic abuse, drug abuse, human trafficking, etc. situations.

Social Integration Courses

This course covers finding accommodation, free Czech language courses, locating a doctor, opening a bank account, and more.

Brothel Visits

We visit sex industry establishments to connect with sex workers, build relationships, and understand how they prefer to be supported.

EN/CZ Language Lessons 

We connect women in the sex industry with English or Czech language tutors free of charge.

Support  

We provide a service of accompanying clients to doctors visits, government office visits, etc with Czech language translation and emotional support.

Counseling

We work with various counsellors who are willing to offer pro bono counselling services to our clients. We connect our clients with counsellors.

Yael Schoultz

Founder of L'Chaim z.s.

Yael Schoultz, D.Min., is the Founder and Director of L'Chaim NGO which reaches out to women engaged in the sex industry. Originally from South Africa, she moved to the Czech Republic in 2011 to start her PhD studies and later completed a D.Min. focused on anti-trafficking training curriculum that is faithful to the embodied encounters of volunteers and sex industry workers.

She has been visiting women in prostitution in the Czech republic since 2011. She has collaborated with various organisations with regards to anti-trafficking work, including La Strada, Amnesty International, the European Freedom Network, The National Freedom Network (of South Africa), to name a few. She regularly gives awareness talks on modern slavery and forced prostitution, and has done so in South Africa, the USA, and all around the Czech Republic.

She is an expert in the field of anti-human trafficking and is currently writing a book on the topic with a specific focus on the Czech republic. When not engaged in anti-trafficking work she is usually engaged in activities at her local synagogue or travelling.
